Stephanie Gabriel, who was previously a partner at Lehmann Maupin Gallery, will join Marianne Boesky Gallery in New York as director on February 26. The gallery has also appointed Sara Putterman, the digital marketing manager of Sotheby’s, its new marketing and communications coordinator.
Gabriel worked at Lehmann Maupin for 15 years. She was a partner at that gallery from 2010 to 2017, and during her tenure there, she oversaw Lehmann Maupin’s expansion to Hong Kong and Seoul.
Putterman, who will assume her position at Marianne Boesky on February 21, began her career at Sotheby’s in the European Furniture department. As the auction house’s digital marketing manager, she has implemented digital strategies for purchasing art online.
Marianne Boesky, the gallery’s founder, said in a statement, “Stephanie brings with her an incredible record of gallery leadership and wide range of long-standing relationships with artists and curators that will prove invaluable to our growing operations. And with the digital realm becoming increasingly important to reaching artists, collectors, and influential leaders alike, Sara’s experience in digital communications will play an important role as we look to the future of the gallery.”
